Enjoy this vegan version of a Dutch Apple Pie! The pastry is DELICIOUS, the apples are tender and the custard powder adds just the right amount of smooth and decadent mouthfeel! If you’ve been craving an apple pie this is definitely the one for you!

Vegan Pastry

  • Sieve the flour, add the sugar and salt.
  • Mix in the melted coconut oil.
  • Add the flax egg and mix throughly.

Filling

  • Peel and slice the apples.
  • Toss the apple slices in the lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon and custard powder to coat them.

Assemble and Bake!

  • Press ¾ of the pastry dough into a greased tin (you can use a pottery or pyrex dish, just grease it properly otherwise it will stick - trust me... been there 😅). Keep ¼ for decorating (optional).
  • Add the filling.
  • Bake at 200°C for 60 minutes 🙂

Notes

Serve straight out the oven with whipped coconut cream! 😍
