  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Slice your cauliflower into 1.5cm (0.6 inch) “steaks”. Leaving the large stem on the bottom so they maintain their shape. You should be able to get 3 slabs from one cauliflower. Keep the extra cauliflower florets for another use.
  • Place on a baking tray and rub the “steaks” with oil, prego sauce and a grind of salt and pepper.
  • Place them in the oven for 30 minutes, gently turning them once to brown both sides evenly.
  • Serve the “steaks” on Portuguese rolls with some extra sauce drizzled on the rolls.

Notes

  • Cut the cauliflower in the centre to get steaks that hold their shape.
  • Marinating the steaks in the sauce will make them more flavourful.
